Keene police kill man fleeing from attempted burglary

KEENE (AP) — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office says one man has been fatally shot by police in Keene while fleeing from an attempted burglary.

Attorney General Michael Delaney said Keene police responded to a burglary complaint on Tuesday night. They saw at least one person on the roof of the Diversified Computers business. They arrested two people fleeing the scene.

Delaney said another man attempted to drive away. Officers pursued him to Marlboro Street, where he parked, fled, then returned to the vehicle in an attempt to escape. Delaney said two officers fired at the vehicle, killing the man. He has not been identified and an autopsy is scheduled Thursday.

The two men arrested, William Rodriguez and Jonathan Figueroa, were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
